That's my girl!!!

The kids in Maggie's class were given the assignment to research a famous person and write a report. Maggie is currently reading Three Cups of Tea (I read it last summer) and decided to do her report on Greg Mortenson. On her own she decided to raise money through Pennies for Peace to help build schools in Pakistan. Maggie is very shy and certainly would never choose to speak in front of a crowd...but her teacher reported to me that Maggie went to every 4th grade class and spoke about her cause. Apparently, kids have been excitedly coming to Maggie's classroom and dropping money into her donation bucket while she has been home sick. She will be pleased.
