Today was Maggie's first day of her apprenticeship with origami artist, Joan Son. It was honestly a match made in Heaven. Maggie told me afterwards, "It was so great, Mama." For as long as I remember, Maggie has enjoyed creating with paper. This experience Maggie has been given couldn't have come at a better time. I know she will cherish her Tuesdays.
Maggie is a natural...now for the fine tuning! What an honor to be offered the role of apprentice to a master! It would be heavenly to receive gifts of Maggie's work on special occasions throughout the years...to watch her artistry flower just as I once watched a scrape from a children's' menu become a bloom in her hands!
As fate would have it, I am forever blessed to be the mother of one exceptional daughter, Maggie and to be married to my high school sweetheart, Big Ian. Amidst the constant pandemonium and chaos that I have somehow become accustom to, I am also a 1st grade teacher and fighting stage 4 lung and bone cancer...and still standing!

Maybe when the time gets closer, I can suggest to Mags that we decorate the Christmas tree with lights & cranes.
