Maggie and I added the finishing touches on our doll and mailed it off today. She will be headed all the way to Nicaragua! Eren from Vintage Chica has traveled to Nicaragua for the past several years to work at an orphanage. She is going again this summer and has called upon the wonderful people that have joined Craft Hope to craft up a little love to go with her. The dolls are being sent to children in a little community on the outskirts on Managua, Nicaragua. The orphanage is called Casa Bernabe and they house boys and girls from the ages of 4 to 18. They are currently working to not only feed and clothe the kids, they are starting to really focus on their psychological and emotional health as well. When the children arrive at the orphanage, they literally have nothing and we would love to give them something that is “theirs.” We hope our doll will give some comfort to a little girl... this was a great project for us and we eagerly await Craft Hope's next project (they will announce it next week!).
